Nusa Penida is the best-kept secret in Bali. The island is the biggest of the three Nusa Island, just off from mainland Bali. Even though, still the infrastructure isn’t as developed, but, its very much worth to get an amazing trip here. This huge island only has 14 villages, and there is so many things to do and so many place to visit. Not only beach, Nusa Penida has large collection unique Hindu temple and picturesque natural features of cliff formation and lagoons. Lately, the islands best known as the new sanctuary of successful captive breeding program of the bird.

This island is all about exploring, Nusa Penida is a paradise for snorkeling, where you can dive with manta raies and mola - mola fish. Its great nature and rough terrain. Almost all the amazing place to see in Nusa Penida are either on the coastline or under water.

1. BROKEN BEACH (PASIH UUG )

Broken Beach (Pasih Uug) is a scenic coastal formation on the south-western edge of Nusa Penida Island. The spot is marked by a hilly arch-like rock formation, which is the distinguishable landmark of the area. Set over the crashing waves of the open Indian Ocean, Broken Beach is a great spot for travel photographers and panoramic view seekers. The adjacent area is also home to grey long-tailed macaques. If you’re lucky, you may spot silhouettes of giant mantas near the surface of the deep blue water.

2. ATUH BEACH

Atuh Beach on Nusa Penida or Pantai Atuh as it’s known in Bahasa, is one of the most epic beaches in Bali. It’s a rough drive and a short hike down to the beach but boy oh boy isn’t this incredible little bay worth it! Some of the photos in this post were taken at high tide and others at low tide. You will notice the difference.

3. GOA GIRI PUTRI

The Goa Giri Putri Temple is one of Nusa Penida Island’s major cultural attractions. The large cave temple is in the village of Suana, on the north-eastern part of Penida. Clear signs lead you to the site along the Jalan Ped-Buyuk main road. A shrine and a priests’ praying shelter guards its entrance. The entrance itself is uniquely a narrow opening in a rock face. You'll need to stoop down low to be able to squeeze and get through. Inside, you’ll discover a spacious temple courtyard. Floorings before the main shrines in the cave’s corner are partly covered in white marble.

4. CRYSTAL BAY NUSA PENIDA

Local said that Crystal Bay is perfect to watch the sunset. Crystal Bay is the name of a secluded cove with a 200-metre stretch of sand on the west coast of Nusa Penida Island. Despite its isolation, the bay is quite accessible thanks to well-developed roads. Besides its beautiful palm-fringed beach, the bay is best known as one of Nusa Penida’s famous snorkelling and dive sites. Near the shore, the waves are swimmable during calmer tides with crystal-clear waters, hence its name. Divers praise the superb visibility, sometimes down to 30 metres.

5. NATURAL POOL OF TEMBELING FOREST

The Natural Pool at Tembeling Forest is great trekking place where offer great view of nature and tranquil atmosphere.If you like trekking, Tembeling Forest is the perfect choice for you. Tembeling is the last remnant of natural forest that once covered areas of the island. The walk down is through thick, green vegitation and the forest is filled with the melodious calls of native birds. After reaching the bottom of the track, you are rewarded with cooling off in the pools formed by a natural spring below. Tembeling Forest has two pools, both of spiritual significance, one for men and one for women. Continue further to the very end and you will emerge at a beautiful beach and won't bear to leave.

6. PEGUYANGAN WATERFALL

Peguyangan Waterfall sits at the bottom of some pretty epic cliffs. It’s one of the less publicized things to do on Nusa Penida. An iconic blue stairway leads you down a Cliffside pathway to a sacred water temple, a pilgrimage site for locals.

7. BUKIT TELETUBBIES NUSA PENIDA

When you hear the word Teletubbies you will definitely remember the 4 interesting characters Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa and Poo of Teletubbies in Nusa Penida slope that is green and excellent. The slope name Teletubbies is given by sightseers who come to visit, yes due to its likeness to the home of the Teletubbies on TV.  You can see from the hill of green slopes that embellish these slopes and the separation between the adjoining slopes is a half circle. In spite of the fact that these slopes are of limestone however with a thin ground, so the grass can even now develop on it giving delightful green shades on the Bukit Teletubbies.

8. TEMPLE POINT

With its emerald tones and crystalline waters, the Angel's Billabong is the exemplification of staggering. What's more, clearly, the green floors of this specific boundlessness pool are so agreeable to stroll on it. Please do not swim there even if it looks calm, it can be very dangerous, some people died swimming in this pool because of big waves that surprised them by behind! 10. KELINGKING BEACH

Arguably the most photogenic spot on your whole Bali trip, Kelingking Beach is one of those perspectives that is difficult to trust that it's genuine when you see it surprisingly. 11. SUWEHAN BEACH

Another beach which is very famous in Suwehan, a few people say it would seem that Dreamland Beach, it's a standout amongst the most renowned shorelines in Bali. The culture of Balinese still upheld in this village so as to make the life of the people there is very modest. You will be invited to enter the passage of time and return to Bali in the past. 13. PURA PALUANG (CAR TEMPLE)

Pura Paluang or car temple in Nusa Penida, is quite unique and interesting, because this is the only temple that has a sacred building with pelinggih shaped car, unlike the usual pelinggih in other temples in Bali, Paluang temple is also known as the temple Car, well of course there is history or background how to get in a temple there Pelinggih shaped car, the temple not only unique it also makes people curious.

14. TREE HOUSE NUSA PENIDA

The Tree House (Rumah Pohon) on Nusa Penida has become something of a craze. The Nusa Penida Treehouse (Rumah Pohon) is located within the Thousand Island viewpoint. The viewpoint is one of the attractions on the island and looks along the beautiful coast of Nusa Penida. It’s not far from the famous Atuh Beach and it could be a good idea to combine these two spots into one day! The best part about this treehouse is that it is actually a house and you can rent it out for pretty cheap considering how popular this spot has become and how insane the view is.

15. PURA SEGARA KIDUL

Nusa penida is famous not only because his beach, but also because the temple too. Not much people know about this temple. Because the way to through, is very tough. We all know that’s Nusa Penida still the infrastructure isnt as developed. Pura segara kidul located near with peguyangan waterfall. Besides you going to peguyangan, you can also see this sacred temple. You must trough about 700 stage to look this temple. If you get the Pura segara kidul, you will see pelinggihan and it is a statue of Nyi roro kidul. She is an indonesian Goddes of the sea. She is the queen of the southern seaa in javanese and sundanese mytology. And one more, the mythology said that if you going to the area of Nyi roro kidul, you cant wear cloth with green colour, because green is her favourite colour. She will be mad if there is anybody else wear that.
